Removed the app.
Still seeing a charge?

Uninstalling a Shopify app stops future billing cycles, but may leave a charge already generated. Find the billing route and ask the developer to review it.

The short answer

Check Settings → Billing to separate pending app charges from paid invoices. Uninstalling stops future Shopify-billed app cycles but may not remove a pending charge already generated. Third-party app refunds are decided by the app developer, even when Shopify collects the bill. If the app bills you outside Shopify, cancel that subscription directly with the developer too.

Match the charge to the app and service period.

In Shopify admin, open Settings → Billing. View current charges shows amounts pending for an upcoming invoice; past bills show charges already invoiced and paid. Save the invoice number, amount, app name and billing period.

The app has its own billing cycle. A later Shopify invoice can include an app charge generated before you uninstalled it. Compare the cycle start, usage dates and uninstall date before assuming two charges are duplicates.

Keep any developer invoice that arrived separately. Charges collected outside Shopify do not appear on the Shopify bill and need their own cancellation or refund request.

Protect your store before removing an app.

Before uninstalling, review what the app does for your storefront, orders and stored data. The store owner should decide how to preserve required records and replace any dependency. A billing dispute does not by itself justify removing a working app.

For a Shopify-billed app, uninstalling stops future billing cycles but may leave a pending charge from an existing cycle. For an externally billed app, also stop its subscription directly with the developer. Keep separate confirmations for each billing route.

Send the evidence to the developer.

The developer controls third-party app refunds. Shopify Support cannot issue that refund just because the amount appears on its invoice.

For an installed app, Shopify’s current route is Settings → Apps → select the app → its menu → Get support. Include the charge date and amount, uninstall date if applicable, and why you are requesting a refund. If the app is no longer listed, find the developer’s contact information on its Shopify App Store listing.

Keep your request and the reply. Shopify says Support can help verify the billing source and follow up with the developer if you have not received a response after three days. That follow-up does not guarantee approval.

Please review the [amount] charge for [app] on Shopify invoice [number], dated [date]. The app billing cycle started [date]; I uninstalled it on [date, if applicable]. I am requesting [refund or correction] because [specific reason]. Please explain the service period, confirm future billing status, and state any approved refund or credit amount.

Check what actually changed.

Record whether the developer approved a refund, issued an application credit or declined the request. Ask where the adjustment will appear. An application credit usable for future app purchases is different from money returned.

After the relevant cycle, review the next bill and any separate developer charge. Compare the result with the written resolution. If the charge continues, send the earlier confirmations and ask which subscription or billing route remains active.

Have Huck chase the billing issue.

Huck can find emailed app receipts and renewal evidence in Gmail, identify the amount to review, and pursue the approved billing request. You approve each cancellation, dispute or refund claim.

The store owner retains app access, storefront and data decisions. Huck’s billing follow-up does not promise a Shopify integration, a developer refund or a safe automatic uninstall of every app.

We do the chasing.

Huck finds the money slipping out of your business, shows you what each charge is worth, and does the chasing when you say so. Cancellations, refund requests and vendor negotiations follow through to a result you can check.

A few things
before you act.

Why did I get a charge after uninstalling?

A charge may have been generated before uninstalling and placed on a later Shopify invoice. Compare the app cycle, usage and uninstall date. Ask the developer to review any amount you dispute.

Can Shopify Support approve the app refund?

The app developer decides third-party app refunds. Shopify Support can help identify the billing source and follow up with the developer, but cannot guarantee a refund.

Does uninstalling cancel a subscription billed outside Shopify?

Shopify says externally billed subscriptions must also be canceled directly with the developer. Keep the developer’s cancellation confirmation.

Is an application credit the same as a refund?

No. Shopify describes application credits as amounts available for future app-related purchases. Verify whether the resolution is a credit, a returned payment or a correction to an unpaid charge.
