Cancel Nextiva.
Port your numbers out first.
Nextiva renews each term on its own unless you give 30 days’ notice, and a contract term bills to the end. Huck finds your Nextiva invoices in Gmail, tells you what you pay and when the term ends, and sends the notice when you say yes.

To cancel Nextiva, email service@nextiva.com or call Nextiva Customer Care at 1-800-983-4289, the two ways its Cancellation Policy names. Give notice at least 30 days before your service term ends, or the account renews for another term of the same length and the cancellation takes effect at the end of that term. On a month-to-month plan past the first 30 days, service ends on the last day of the first billing period that is at least 30 days after your notice. On a minimum commitment contract you owe all charges for the rest of the term plus any disconnect fee. If you want to keep your numbers, let the new provider finish the port before you cancel, since Nextiva says that if you cancel first your service stops and your number may not be available for porting.

Nextiva cancels by email or phone, not in the portal.
Nextiva’s Cancellation Policy says you can cancel at any time by sending notice of your intent to cancel to service@nextiva.com or by calling Customer Care at 1-800-983-4289. Its Master Terms add the timing: notice has to arrive at least 30 days before the current service term ends. The same policy covers all Nextiva services, including business phone, vFax and contact center.
- Port out any numbers you want to keep. Your new provider starts the port. Your Nextiva account must be active and in good standing for the number to port out, so keep it open and paid until the port is done.
- Check your term and what you pay. Log in to the Nextiva portal as an administrator, click Billing, then the Invoices tab. Set a date range and download the invoices you want to keep.
- Send your cancellation notice. Email service@nextiva.com, or call Customer Care at 1-800-983-4289. Email gives you a dated record. Send it at least 30 days before the term ends.
- Return any rented or free devices. Rented devices go back within 30 days after the agreement ends. Discounted and free devices that aren’t returned on cancellation are charged to you unless your contract says otherwise.
- Check the final bill. Nextiva bills to the end of the term or notice period. If a charge looks wrong, write to billing@nextiva.com within 7 days of your card statement or bank debit.
Terms renew on their own, and contracts bill to the end.
Under Nextiva’s Master Terms, last updated July 23, 2024, your term starts on the day you first ordered service and renews automatically for another term of the same length unless you give notice at least 30 days before it ends. Notice sent later than that lets the account renew, and the cancellation takes effect at the end of the renewal term.
On a month-to-month plan past the first 30 days, cancellation takes effect on the last day of the first billing period that is at least 30 days after your notice. If you signed a minimum commitment contract, such as a Nextiva Service Agreement, you owe all charges for the rest of the then-current term plus any disconnect fee, and Nextiva bills them to your card. Nextiva lists early termination fees among the fees it may charge but does not publish an amount, so check your order or contract.
A free trial starts billing when the trial ends unless you cancel before then. After that, the service stays on your account for the rest of the term and removing it falls under the Cancellation Policy and any early termination fees.
Our Nextiva account [company name, account number] is on a [month-to-month plan / contract term ending date]. Please treat this as our notice of cancellation for all services on the account, effective at the end of the current term. We are porting [phone and fax numbers] to a new provider, and the port completed on [date]. Please confirm the cancellation date, any final charges and any devices you need returned by email.Nextiva Master Terms & Conditions ↗
Port first, then cancel.
Nextiva’s Cancellation Policy says you may be able to port your number to another provider. Once the port is completed through the new provider, you email service@nextiva.com to cancel. Until you do, you remain a Nextiva customer and keep paying for the service.
If you cancel before the port is complete, your service stops working and your number may not be available for porting. The account must be active and in good standing for a number to port out. The same applies to fax numbers on Nextiva vFax.
Nextiva Cancellation Policy ↗Purchased phones stay yours. Rented and free ones go back.
Devices you bought from Nextiva are yours once paid for, and Nextiva won’t take back non-defective devices after the first 30 days. Headsets and similar audio gear are final sale.
Rented devices must be returned within 30 days after the rental term or the agreement ends, and you pay shipping plus the cost of any damage or loss. Discounted and free devices not returned when you cancel are charged to you unless your contract says otherwise.
Nextiva Master Terms & Conditions ↗Cancelling early still leaves the term to pay.
On a contract you pay for the rest of the term whether or not you use the service, and not using the service doesn’t count as cancelling. A notice sent less than 30 days before the term ends buys a full extra term.
Numbers you cancel before porting may be gone for good. Nextiva says it keeps invoices online for the life of the account, so download the ones you need from Billing, then Invoices, while the account is open. On vFax, any fax allowance you don’t use expires at the end of its period and does not roll over.
Nextiva: billing FAQs ↗Refunds only in the first 30 days, with limits.
Under Nextiva’s 30-day money back guarantee, you can get equipment, activation and subscription fees back if you cancel in the first 30 days after your initial sign-up. It applies only if you used no more than half your metered minutes or fax pages (or 500 minutes or 500 fax pages on an unlimited plan), got no free device, have no minimum commitment contract, used no contact center or digital customer engagement services and are not in breach of the terms. It does not cover renewals, lines or services added after your first order, international usage, or shipping, and Nextiva may not refund all taxes. You can use it only once, and Nextiva says it can revoke the guarantee at any time.
Devices returned under an RMA requested within the 30 days are refunded in full if they arrive in new condition in the original packaging within 7 days of the RMA date. If they are not back within 14 days, Nextiva refunds everything except the device and charges the device’s retail price. After the first 30 days, any refund or credit is at Nextiva’s sole discretion, and equipment is not returnable.
Our Nextiva account [company name, account number] was opened on [sign-up date]. Huck catches the 30-day notice date.
Huck finds Nextiva invoices and renewal notices in your Gmail and texts you what you pay and the date your notice has to reach Nextiva, so the cancellation goes out more than 30 days before the term renews.
When you say yes, Huck sends the cancellation notice or refund request to service@nextiva.com from your Gmail, then checks the next bill. Huck doesn’t call Nextiva. You handle the Nextiva portal sign-in, the number port with your new provider and any device returns. Nextiva decides any refund or credit.
