Cancel Hootsuite.
Before the renewal date, not after.
Hootsuite renews on the same calendar day you first paid, and its terms say fees are non-refundable. Huck finds your Hootsuite receipts in Gmail, tells you what you pay and when it renews, and cancels or downgrades when you say yes.
Connect Gmail to get started. You approve each money action.
To cancel Hootsuite, a Super Admin goes to Account, then Settings, then Plan and billing, and selects Update subscription. The cancellation takes effect at the end of your paid or trial period, and Hootsuite’s terms say you pay for the rest of the plan term with no refund, though its support team will review a refund request. Cancel before the renewal date, since plans renew on their own and a free trial charges the card on file on the first day after it ends. Annual plans are a one-year commitment and are non-refundable. Deleting the account is separate: it is immediate, permanent and deletes your scheduled content.

Cancel in Plan and billing, then keep the plan to the end of the term.
Hootsuite cancels from the web dashboard. If you are in a Hootsuite organization, you must be its Super Admin. The cancellation takes effect at the end of your paid or trial period, so you keep your current plan features until then. Enterprise customers make changes through their Hootsuite customer account manager instead.
- Check your renewal date. Hootsuite bills on the calendar day that matches your first paid subscription date. Your invoices and billing history are in Hootsuite.
- Go to Account, then Settings. Sign in as the Super Admin if the account belongs to an organization.
- Select Plan and billing in the navigation pane. This page shows your subscription and lets you update payment details.
- Select Update subscription to cancel. Hootsuite emails a confirmation for any plan or account change. Keep that email.
- Paid through the App Store or Google Play? Cancel in that store too, at least 24 hours before your next billing date. Hootsuite says the account and the app subscription have to be cancelled separately.
A trial charges the day after it ends.
You get one Hootsuite trial. You can switch plan types during it, but the trial does not restart. When it ends, the account moves to the plan you chose at sign-up and the payment method on file is charged. Hootsuite emails you a few days before the trial ends.
Hootsuite’s terms say you are charged automatically on the first day after the trial is over unless you cancel or downgrade to a free service and uninstall paid apps before the trial ends. Its plan article says to cancel a trial the same way as a paid plan, in Plan and billing, then Update subscription. Its account FAQ says to delete the account before the trial expires to avoid charges, which also deletes your scheduled content.
Hootsuite: account FAQ ↗Plans renew on their own, and annual plans run the full year.
Under Hootsuite’s self-serve Terms of Service, last modified July 29, 2025, monthly and annual plans renew automatically at the end of the term and bill you unless you cancel or downgrade first. The terms set no advance notice period, so cancelling any time before the renewal date is enough.
Monthly plans are paid at the start of each billing cycle and allow one plan change per cycle. An annual plan is a one-year commitment paid in one discounted payment. You can’t move an annual plan to monthly until the year ends, and switching from monthly to annual starts right away with a prorated invoice.
Hootsuite: billing FAQ ↗Downgrade or trim members instead of leaving.
A Super Admin downgrades in Account, then Settings, then Plan and billing, then Update subscription. Hootsuite says you can currently switch a Team plan to Professional this way. Before you do, remove social accounts above the new plan’s limit, and leave the organization or transfer ownership if others will keep using Hootsuite. The downgrade takes effect at the end of the current paid period.
To remove a member, go to Account, then Settings, then Members, open the More menu in the Actions column next to the member, select Delete from organization, then Delete. You need to be a Super Admin, an Admin or have permission to manage members. Hootsuite’s article does not say whether removing a member lowers the bill, so check the next invoice. Add-ons removed mid-cycle stay active until the commitment ends and are not refunded.
Changes to or from an Enterprise plan go through Hootsuite’s Enterprise plan page or your customer account manager, not this menu.
Hootsuite: remove a member from a team or account ↗Cancelling keeps your data. Deleting does not.
After you cancel, Hootsuite says it will restore your account information and data if you come back. Deleting the account is different: it takes effect immediately, can’t be recovered, permanently deletes your scheduled content, and the email on that account can’t be used for a future Hootsuite account. Hootsuite suggests cancelling instead if you might return.
To delete, an organization owner first deletes the organization or transfers ownership. Deleting an organization, from Account, then Social accounts and teams, then the More actions icon, then Delete Organization, permanently removes its teams, scheduled posts, tags, member permissions and vanity URLs. Then go to Account, then Settings, then Plan and billing, select Delete account and confirm. In the mobile app, tap your profile picture, then the Settings tab, then Delete account.
Hootsuite: delete an organization ↗Fees are non-refundable, but Hootsuite reviews requests.
Hootsuite’s terms say that when you cancel a paid plan you pay for the rest of the plan term and are not entitled to a refund. Its billing FAQ adds that annual subscriptions are non-refundable and that deleting an account closes it immediately with no proration or partial refund.
Its refund policy says Hootsuite will still review your charges. Send the request form with the account email, the owner’s full name, the reason, and for a card the last 4 digits, expiry, charge amount, date and invoice number. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method, usually in 5 to 10 business days. Hootsuite can’t refund app store subscriptions; those go to Apple or Google.

Huck catches the renewal date before Hootsuite bills.
Huck finds Hootsuite receipts and renewal notices in your Gmail and texts you what you pay, whether the plan is monthly or annual, and the date it renews, so you can cancel or downgrade before the next charge.
When you say yes, Huck cancels or downgrades in Hootsuite’s Plan and billing page, or sends a refund request from your Gmail, then checks the next bill. You handle the Hootsuite sign-in. Huck does not manage your social accounts or posts. Hootsuite decides any refund.
