Cancel Verizon Business.
Port your numbers out first.
Verizon Business bills wireless lines and business internet on separate accounts, with separate fees for leaving early, unpaid devices and unreturned routers. Huck finds your Verizon bills in Gmail, tells you what each line and service costs and when the term ends, and makes the change when you say yes.
Connect Gmail to get started. You approve each money action.
To cancel a Verizon Business wireless line, an authorized user disconnects it in My Business Wireless from the line’s Device Info tab, or calls My Business Wireless customer service at 800-922-0204. Verizon Business Internet (Fios or DSL) cancels by calling 1-800-VERIZON (800-837-4966), and the cancellation takes effect on the last day of that month’s billing cycle. If you want to keep your phone numbers, port them to the new carrier first, because Verizon says the account and line must stay active until the move is complete. Leaving a line before its minimum term can bring an early termination fee, and any remaining device payment balance must be paid off. Return Fios routers and other rented equipment within 30 days of Verizon’s return request, or Verizon charges $175 to $230 for an unreturned router.

Disconnect a business line in My Business Wireless.
Each line has a Line Overview page in My Business Wireless. Its Device Info tab shows the line’s status, contract length and upgrade date, and has links to suspend, resume or disconnect the line. My Business Wireless customer service is 800-922-0204, Monday to Friday 8 AM to 8 PM and Saturday 8 AM to 5 PM Eastern, closed Sunday.
- Port out any numbers you want to keep. Do this before you disconnect anything. The new carrier transfers the number and disconnects the Verizon line for you.
- Check the contract length and device payments. Sign in to My Business Wireless, go to Manage, then Account, then Services, then Manage wireless numbers, and select the number. The Device Info tab shows the contract length.
- Disconnect the line. From the same Device Info tab, use the disconnect link for that line. Or call My Business Wireless customer service at 800-922-0204.
- Moving the last phone line? Also cancel any connected device lines, such as a smartwatch, tablet or hotspot, or those lines keep billing.
- Handing a line to another business instead? Go to Manage, then Devices, then Transfer Service, and use the Release line tab. The new party has 15 days to complete the transfer, and you stay responsible for charges until it is done.
Port numbers out before you close anything.
A port out moves your Verizon line to a different carrier. Verizon says you must keep your account open and the line active until the move is completed. If Number Lock is on for a line, turn it off in My Business first.
Generate a Number Transfer PIN for each line in My Business: search or select the line, then Line Overview, then Device Information, then Number Transfer PIN, then Generate PIN. Only the Primary Contact and Administrator roles can do this. The PIN is texted to the device and emailed to the user who asked for it, and it is valid for 7 days. Give the new carrier the PIN and your Verizon account number. For 10 or more lines, Verizon asks you to call 1-800-922-0204.
Verizon doesn’t charge a fee to move a number out. It says you may owe an early termination fee if the line’s minimum contract term isn’t finished, and you must pay off any remaining device payment balance.
Don’t generate a new PIN after you’ve given one to the new carrier. Verizon says that can interfere with the port.
Verizon Business: port out my number ↗Business internet cancels by phone and ends with the billing cycle.
Verizon’s Terms of Service for business internet and value added services cover Fios and DSL business internet. They say to cancel your service or a renewal by calling 1-800-VERIZON (800-837-4966). Verizon lists the same number for My Business Wireline customer service for Fios Internet and TV, Monday to Friday 8:30 AM to 6 PM Eastern.
Your cancellation takes effect on the last day of that month’s billing cycle, and you owe all charges through that date, plus any early termination fee on a term plan. Monthly charges bill one month in advance, and installation or setup fees are not refundable.
- Find your term end date. A term plan either ends at its minimum term and moves to month-to-month rates, or renews on its own for the same length. To stop an automatic renewal, contact Verizon within 30 days before or 60 days after the renewal date.
- Call 1-800-VERIZON (800-837-4966) to cancel. Have your account number ready, and ask for the cancellation date and the early termination fee in writing.
- Return the equipment. Take rented Fios equipment to a UPS Store within 30 days of the day Verizon asks for it. No box is needed, since the serial numbers are scanned. Keep the receipt.
- Enterprise accounts: use the Verizon Enterprise Center. Go to Orders, then Disconnect Service, pick the services and a reason, and submit. Verizon sets a standard date 30 days out for U.S. locations.
Cancelling can cost devices, discounts and stored data.
On business internet, Verizon’s terms say it can delete all data, files, email, address books and web storage on your account as soon as service ends. Static IP addresses are not portable and go back to Verizon. If you cancel one part of a bundle, the remaining services move to non-discounted month-to-month rates.
Unreturned or damaged Fios equipment is charged: $230 for a Wi-Fi Access Point, $200 for a Verizon Router, $175 for a Fios Router and $210 for a Fiber Service Unit and power supply, among other items. On wireless, if you got trade-in or instant savings on a new device and don’t keep service active on it for three billing cycles, Verizon charges those values back.
Suspending a line is not a free pause. Device payments keep billing whatever billing option you choose, and an Other suspension (vacation or illness) is limited to 180 days in any 12 months.
Verizon Business: Fios unreturned or damaged equipment charges ↗Refunds depend on cancelling within 30 days.
On business wireless, Verizon refunds the activation fee if you disconnect within 30 days of activation. You can return wireless devices within 30 days of purchase, and a $50 restocking fee may apply. Returning a device does not cancel the line. If you bought a device at a promotional price at activation and don’t return it within the 30 days, Verizon can charge an early termination fee of up to $650. Verizon points business customers to their wireless Major Account Agreement for other termination terms.
On business internet, if your plan came with a money-back guarantee, cancelling within it gets a full refund of monthly, one-time and equipment charges, provided you return the equipment in good working order, and no early termination fee applies. Outside that window, the early termination fee is the one in the pricing plan you chose. Verizon decides any refund.
Verizon Business: wireless return policy ↗Huck tracks each line and the term dates.
Huck finds Verizon Business bills and renewal notices in your Gmail and texts you what you pay for each line and for internet, and when a term ends, so a line comes off before the next cycle and an internet renewal is stopped inside Verizon’s 30 days before or 60 days after window.
When you say yes, Huck disconnects lines in My Business Wireless or submits a disconnect request in the Verizon Enterprise Center, then checks the next bill for the final charges. Verizon cancels business internet by phone, so Huck texts you the number, account and date to call by. You handle the Verizon sign-in, the number port with your new carrier and the equipment return. Verizon decides any refund.
