Cancel Ahrefs.
Check the final charge.
Huck finds your Ahrefs renewal in Gmail, pursues the cancellation you approve, and checks the confirmation and later bill. You handle account sign-in and decisions about records your business needs.
Connect Gmail to get started. You approve each money action.
To cancel Ahrefs, open Account Settings → Billing → Subscriptions and complete the cancellation prompts. Paid access ends with the current billing period, then the account moves to the free tier. Cancellation does not delete your account, and accrued pay-as-you-go charges can remain payable. Save the confirmed end date and check the final invoice.

Stop the renewal through your account.
Match the Ahrefs invoice in your email to the account you are about to change. Review the reports, projects and paid features your business still relies on before proceeding. Preserve permitted records you need and ask support about any retention question your account does not answer.
- Open Account Settings → Billing. Use the account associated with the subscription on your receipt.
- Find Subscriptions. Review the plan and next billing date before selecting cancellation.
- Complete every cancellation prompt. Do not stop at the first screen. Keep the confirmation and the paid-through date shown.
- Check the end of the paid period. Ahrefs says access continues to the end of the billing period, then your account changes to the free tier.
Separate a renewal from usage you already incurred.
Stopping renewal does not erase an existing balance. Ahrefs’ terms say accrued pay-as-you-go usage can still be charged after the subscription ends. Unused allocations expire under the applicable timeframe rather than carrying to the next usage period.
Keep the last invoice, the cancellation confirmation and the effective date together. If a later charge appears, identify its service period and whether it is accrued usage or a new subscription renewal before requesting a correction.
I completed cancellation for [subscription/account] on [date], with paid access ending [date]. Please confirm renewal is off and identify any accrued usage still payable. For invoice [reference], please explain the charged service period and whether this is prior usage or a new renewal.Ahrefs terms: fees and cancellation, sections 7–8 ↗
Ask for a non-use review without assuming a refund.
Ahrefs’ terms say refunds are not required except where applicable law provides otherwise. They allow a written non-use refund request to support@ahrefs.com, which Ahrefs reviews at its discretion. Cancellation alone is not a refund approval.
If you request that review, identify the invoice, charge date and accurate reason for non-use. Keep the vendor’s decision. Count money as recovered only when the credit or refund appears in billing evidence.
Ahrefs refund terms, section 8.2 ↗A pause is not an available subscription option.
Ahrefs says it does not offer subscription pausing. Its stated alternative is to cancel and subscribe again when needed. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period.
Do not assume a later subscription restores the same plan, price or retained records. Check those questions with Ahrefs before ending access if they affect your decision.
Ahrefs guidance on pausing a subscription ↗Card removal and account deletion are separate steps.
Ahrefs says you can remove a saved payment card only after the paid period has ended and the account has moved to the free tier. Then use Account Settings → Billing → Payment Methods. Removing a card is not the cancellation process.
Account deletion is a separate support request from the email registered to the account or through live chat. Ahrefs requires outstanding bills to be settled and written confirmation that deletion is complete. Do not request deletion merely to stop a renewal if you still need the account.
Ahrefs card removal and deletion instructions ↗Use the registered email if Billing leaves you uncertain.
If you cannot complete cancellation, Ahrefs directs you to support@ahrefs.com from the account’s registered email or its live chat. Ask for the subscription status, effective date and any remaining balance. A message sent without confirmation is not proof that renewal is off.

A few things
before you act.
Does canceling Ahrefs end access immediately?
Ahrefs says cancellation takes effect at the end of the current subscription period. The account then moves to the free tier. Check the paid-through date in Billing.
Can I pause my Ahrefs subscription?
Ahrefs says pausing is not available. Its published alternative is cancellation, followed by a new subscription when needed.
Will canceling Ahrefs automatically refund my last payment?
No automatic refund is established by the cancellation. Ahrefs considers written non-use refund requests at its discretion, subject to applicable law.
Why was I charged after cancellation?
Check the invoice period and subscription status. Ahrefs’ terms say accrued pay-as-you-go usage can remain payable after a plan ends. Ask support to distinguish that from a new renewal.
Does cancellation delete my Ahrefs account?
No. Paid cancellation leads to the free tier. Deletion requires a separate support request, settled outstanding bills and written confirmation.
