Cancel Grasshopper.
Port your numbers out first.
Grasshopper keeps billing to the end of your term after you cancel, and it does not refund the rest. Huck finds your Grasshopper receipts in Gmail, tells you what you pay and when the plan renews, and makes the change when you say yes.
Connect Gmail to get started. You approve each money action.
Grasshopper cancels only through its support team: the account’s main contact selects Contact Support and gives the account number (your business phone number), the 4-digit Primary PIN, the last 4 digits of the card on file and that card’s billing address. Cancelling turns off auto-renewal, so a monthly plan ends at the end of that month and an annual plan stays active until its renewal date. To keep your numbers, ask support for your Customer Service Record, have your new provider port them, and cancel only after the port is complete, since Grasshopper says you must port all numbers before cancelling. Grasshopper has an official no-refund policy, so cancelling early does not get you a refund. A free trial needs no cancelling: it ends after 7 days or 50 minutes, and trial numbers cannot be ported out.

Grasshopper cancels through Contact Support.
Grasshopper’s help center says you need to Contact Support to start a cancellation and to get your Customer Service Record (CSR). Only the main contact on the account can do it, and the account has to be in good standing with no outstanding bills or fees.
Cancelling turns off auto-renewal. The subscription stays active until the end of the plan term, and if you cancel partway through a term you keep paying for the time left on it.
- Port out any numbers you want to keep. Grasshopper says you must port all numbers before cancelling, and that the transfer usually takes 2 to 18 business days. Keep the account active until it finishes.
- Find your renewal or end date. Sign in to the admin portal and go to Plan & billing, then Subscriptions. The date is under Renewal date in My plan. On the legacy admin portal, go to Settings, then Account, download your latest invoice and read the Bill Date.
- Gather what support will ask for. Your account number (your business phone number), the account’s 4-digit Primary PIN, the last 4 digits of the credit card on file and the billing address for that card.
- Contact Support to cancel. The account’s main contact selects Contact Support on Grasshopper’s Cancel your account article and asks to cancel. If you ported numbers out, contact support once the port has completed.
- Check the next bill. If you are still charged after the term end date, Grasshopper says to contact support through the same article.
Your new provider runs the port. Grasshopper supplies the CSR.
Your new provider, not Grasshopper, starts and manages the port. Contact Grasshopper Support to request your Customer Service Record. It can take up to 72 hours to arrive, and the PIN comes with it if one is needed. Make sure the details on your Letter of Authorization match the CSR, then give the CSR to the new provider.
Only paid accounts with no outstanding balance can port numbers out, and free trial accounts can’t. There is no waiting period. Your number stays active with Grasshopper until the port is complete, and Grasshopper does not notify you when it finishes, so watch for the new provider’s confirmation.
Porting out does not cancel your Grasshopper account. To remove a ported number or close the account, contact Grasshopper Support after the transfer. If the number had SMS registration, starting the port removes it, and you register again with the new provider.
Grasshopper: port your phone number out ↗A free trial ends on its own.
Grasshopper’s 7 day free trial needs no credit card. It ends when the 7 days pass or when you use the 50 included minutes, and Grasshopper says that if you don’t want to convert to a paid account, you don’t need to cancel.
Trials can’t be extended or reactivated as trials. A trial number can’t be ported out, because only paid accounts can port.
Grasshopper: trial FAQs ↗A downgrade takes effect at the next renewal.
To change plans, sign in to the admin portal, go to Plan & billing, then Subscriptions, select Change plan and choose the new plan. On the legacy admin portal, go to Settings, then Account, choose a plan under Your Pricing Plan and select Yes, change my plan.
Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades start on the next renewal date, which is the next monthly bill date or the annual renewal date. Extra numbers cost $10 a month each, and extra extensions $5 a month on monthly plans or $36 a year on annual plans. Removing an extra number goes through Contact Support and needs the account’s Primary PIN.
Grasshopper: billing FAQs ↗Numbers you don’t port can go to someone else.
If you cancel before transferring your numbers, Grasshopper says they may be transferred to a different carrier and could be used by a competitor.
Grasshopper’s cancel article says you lose access to the account’s data 120 days after the end of a paid plan term, or 28 days after a trial, and can’t get it back even by reactivating. The same article’s FAQ says numbers, settings and account history stay for 90 days after the subscription ends, then the numbers are recycled and the data deleted. Plan on the shorter 90 days.
Your SMS brand and campaign registrations end when the account closes. Grasshopper says they don’t transfer between providers, so you register again with the new one.
Grasshopper: cancel your account ↗Grasshopper does not refund early cancellations.
Grasshopper says it has an official no-refund policy, so you won’t get a refund for cancelling a subscription early. If you cancel partway through a term, you keep being charged for the time left on it under its Terms of Service.
A monthly plan you cancel ends at the end of that month. An annual plan you cancel stays active until its annual renewal date. Add-ons like a new number or extension are charged the day you buy them and show on the next renewal invoice.
Grasshopper: cancel your account ↗Huck catches the renewal date before the next term.
Huck finds Grasshopper receipts and renewal notices in your Gmail and texts you what you pay, whether the plan is monthly or annual and when it renews, so the port and the cancellation happen before another term starts.
When you say yes, Huck downgrades the plan in Grasshopper’s admin portal, then checks the next bill. Grasshopper cancels only through Contact Support and only for the account’s main contact, so you make that contact, handle the sign-in and the Primary PIN, and run the number port with your new provider. Grasshopper decides any refund.

We do the chasing.
Huck cancels, requests the refund or works the vendor’s chat, then follows up until the request is settled. Huck checks your bill for the lower charge, credit or refund and texts you the result.
