Cancel AT&T Business.
Port your numbers out first.
AT&T Business charges $25 for each month left on an internet term and up to $750 for a wireless line with a discounted phone, and it bills to the end of the cycle you cancel in. Huck finds your AT&T Business bills in Gmail, tells you what you pay and when the term ends, and makes the change when you say yes.

The account owner cancels AT&T Business internet or AT&T Business Fiber by chat or by calling 800.321.2000, and landline or AT&T Phone business service cancels at the same number; Internet Air for Business and wireless lines cancel at 800.331.0500. Before you cancel, have your new carrier port any wireless numbers you want to keep, since AT&T says a number disconnected too soon has to be reactivated before the transfer can finish. Leaving an AT&T Internet for Business or Business Fiber term early costs $25 for each month left, and a wireless line bought with a discounted device carries a Cancellation Fee of up to $750 that drops each month. Return Business Fiber equipment within 21 days of cancelling or AT&T charges $150 for the Wi-Fi Gateway and $65 for each extender. Under AT&T’s 30-day risk-free policy, cancelling within 30 days of activation or installation gets a full refund of service charges, which can take two to three bill periods.

Each AT&T Business service has its own cancel line.
AT&T Business cancels by phone or chat. Its business cancel page lists a number for each service, and AT&T’s internet cancel article says only the account owner can cancel AT&T Business Internet, Internet Air for Business or U-verse TV. AT&T’s traditional phone article says disconnecting a line or discontinuing phone service is not available online, so you contact AT&T.
- Port out any numbers you want to keep. Ask the new provider to transfer the numbers before you disconnect anything. For wireless, the primary user requests a Number Transfer PIN first.
- Check your term and fees. Look at your agreement for the term end date. For wireless, sign in to your account and look in Device info for a cancellation fee.
- Business internet or Business Fiber: call 800.321.2000. The account owner chooses Chat when it is available or calls 800.321.2000. Requests on a holiday are handled the next business day, and weekend requests during regional weekend hours.
- Landline or AT&T Phone business service: call 800.321.2000. AT&T’s business cancel page lists the same number for landline and AT&T Phone business services.
- Internet Air for Business or wireless lines: call 800.331.0500. Internet Air cancels by chat or at 800.331.0500, and AT&T’s wireless policy says to call 800.331.0500 to cancel wireless service. Managed Internet Backup cancels at 800.223.6965.
- Return the equipment and check the final bill. Send back Business Fiber equipment within 21 days. Your final bill covers charges through the end of the bill cycle in which service ends, plus any early termination fee.

Get a transfer PIN, then let the new carrier port.
To move a wireless number off AT&T, you need a Number Transfer PIN, which your new provider asks for along with your account details. On a business wireless account, only the primary user can request it, from the online AT&T account (Settings, then Transfer phone number, then Request new PIN) or by contacting AT&T, and a rep emails the PIN. The AT&T app and *PORT methods do not work for business wireless accounts.
The PIN is the same for every number on the account and expires 14 days after you request it on a business account, so request it close to the day you submit the port. Turn off Wireless Account Lock first, since it blocks transfers. For landline and business voice numbers, AT&T’s port-out procedures have the new provider send the port request to AT&T.
AT&T: get a PIN to transfer your wireless number ↗Internet terms cost $25 a month left. Wireless fees depend on the device.
AT&T’s Business Fee Schedule for internet, current as of July 2, 2020, sets the early termination fee for AT&T Internet for Business and AT&T Business Fiber at $25 times the number of months remaining in the term. Older AT&T HSI Business Edition and FastAccess Business DSL plans use $20 a month. Not returning equipment after you cancel costs $150.
For wireless, a Cancellation Fee applies when you cancel a line bought with a discounted device before the service commitment ends. On business agreements effective February 14, 2024 or later, it runs from $150 to $750 depending on the device’s undiscounted price and drops $5 to $25 for each full month you complete. Older agreements use $325 minus $10 a month for a smartphone, or $150 minus $4 a month for other devices. There is no Cancellation Fee on a device bought at full price or on an installment plan, but the remaining installment balance comes due when you cancel.
AT&T Internet Business Fee Schedule ↗Business Fiber gear goes back within 21 days.
AT&T says all Business Fiber equipment must be returned within 21 days after the service is cancelled, or it charges $150 for the Wi-Fi Gateway plus $65 for each Wi-Fi extender. Its risk-free page says equipment returns can go by mail or to a UPS store with your billing account number.
An Internet Air 5G Gateway has to come back within 30 days of purchase (or shipping) to count under the 30-day policy, and restocking fees apply. Wireless devices returned within 30 days must be in like-new condition with all original parts and packaging, with security features such as Find My turned off and data erased. Device restocking fees run up to $55. If you are leaving AT&T Internet, the modem you bought at installation is yours to keep.
AT&T Business: 30-day risk-free policy ↗You pay through the end of the bill cycle.
AT&T’s small business wireless terms say that for any termination, including a number switched to another carrier, you pay all charges through the end of the billing cycle in which it ends, plus any Cancellation Fee. If a wireless line ends after the 30-day return period, an installment plan may default and the remaining balance is charged to your account. Internet Air installment balances also come due on your final bill, and professional installation charges are not refunded.
A number disconnected before the port finishes has to be reactivated before the transfer can complete. If you have an AT&T email account, you have to wait 30 to 60 days after cancelling before you can delete it. Internet Air for Business may not be available to reactivate later if AT&T no longer deems your location eligible.
AT&T small business General Terms and Conditions ↗Full refunds only inside the first 30 days.
AT&T Business’s 30-day risk-free policy covers wireless (new smartphone lines only) and AT&T Business Fiber. Cancel within 30 days of activation or installation and return the equipment in good condition for a full refund of service charges, features, taxes and fees, with restocking fees waived. AT&T says refunds may take two to three bill periods. For Business Fiber, inside wiring, special construction and VoIP charges are not covered, and the policy is not offered after 30 days.
Internet Air for Business has its own 30-day window with a full refund of service charges, taxes and fees. On wireless, AT&T refunds the activation fee if service ends within three days of activation. Outside these windows, AT&T’s pages describe no refund for cancelling, and AT&T decides any credit.
