Cancel ZipRecruiter.
Call before the next billing date.
ZipRecruiter renews employer plans on their own, and a paid plan can’t be cancelled with a button the way a free trial can. Huck finds your ZipRecruiter receipts in Gmail, tells you what you pay and when the next bill lands, and makes the change when you say yes.
Connect Gmail to get started. You approve each money action.
To cancel a paid ZipRecruiter employer subscription, call the billing department at (855) 813-0288 or 24/7 Customer Care at (877) 252-1062, or email support@ziprecruiter.com, before your next billing date. ZipRecruiter does not give prorated refunds or refunds of prepaid fees when you cancel, so the plan stays active until the end of the current monthly or annual term and then goes inactive. Only a free trial cancels online: click the gray silhouette in the top right, then Subscription, then Overview, then Cancel Free Trial. A new employer’s free trial lasts 48 hours from the moment you post your first job, and if you don’t cancel in time it converts to a paid plan. On a pay per day plan, closing your jobs stops new charges.

Paid plans cancel by phone or email. Only trials cancel online.
ZipRecruiter’s employer help center says to cancel by contacting the billing department at (855) 813-0288 or the 24/7 Customer Care team at (877) 252-1062, or by email to support@ziprecruiter.com. Its Terms of Use say the same for paid plans: call or email, and a representative will contact you. Get the request in before your next billing date.
- Find your next billing date. Click the gray silhouette icon in the top right, select Subscription, then Overview. It shows your plan and next scheduled billing date.
- Pay per day plan: close every active job. Closing a job stops charges from accruing. ZipRecruiter bills the days the job was active and charges any unbilled amount to the card on file the next day.
- Monthly or annual plan: call or email before the billing date. Call (855) 813-0288 or (877) 252-1062, or email support@ziprecruiter.com and ask ZipRecruiter to turn off automatic renewal. An email gives you a dated record.
- Still in the free trial: cancel online. From Subscription, then Overview, click Cancel Free Trial, select a reason and click Continue. A confirmation screen shows when it’s done.
- Check Subscription, then Overview again. Make sure automatic renewal is off. An older ZipRecruiter article says some accounts show a Cancel Auto-Renewal link in the Automatic Renewal section of that page.
Our ZipRecruiter employer account [company name, account email] is on a [pay per day / monthly / annual] plan with the next billing date of [date]. Please cancel the subscription and turn off automatic renewal so we are not charged again. Please confirm by email the date the account goes inactive and any final charges.ZipRecruiter: how do I cancel my ZipRecruiter account? ↗
The free trial lasts 48 hours from your first job post.
ZipRecruiter says a new employer’s free trial lasts exactly 48 hours from the moment you post your first job. Its example: a job posted June 12 at 11:00 AM PST ends the trial June 14 at 10:59 AM PST. If you don’t cancel before then, the account converts to a paid plan on its own.
On a pay per day plan, the first paid cycle starts right after the trial and charges are counted daily from 12:00 AM to 11:59 PM PST. On a monthly plan, the day the trial ends becomes your monthly billing date. Under the Terms of Use, an annual plan chosen at sign-up charges the first year when the trial ends.
Cancelling during the trial means you are not billed. Your trial end date shows in Subscription, then Overview, or under Paid Posting Begins.

Closing a job stops pay per day charges. Hiring Pause keeps the history.
To close a job, click Jobs in the left menu. On Active Jobs, hover over Manage under the job title, select Close Job, choose a reason and click the green Close Job button. ZipRecruiter removes the job from all partner job boards within 24 hours, and you keep your candidates and job details. You can re-post it later from Closed Jobs.
On a pay per day plan, you are charged only for days a job is active, and the balance bills when it reaches $500.00 or when you cancel, whichever comes first. Closing a job does not end a monthly or annual plan, which keeps renewing until you cancel it.
If you want to stop posting but keep your records, ZipRecruiter offers a Hiring Pause plan through your sales representative or (877) 252-1062. It gives one user seat with read-only access to view and download resumes, billing information, receipts and closed jobs. You can’t post jobs, and active job slots and new Resume Database views are not included. ZipRecruiter’s article does not list the Hiring Pause price, so ask before you switch.

A trial cancellation cuts access right away. A paid one runs to the end of the cycle.
If you cancel during a free trial, ZipRecruiter makes the account inactive immediately, removes active job ads from all boards and suspends access to the employer dashboard and candidate data. Download any resumes you need first.
If you cancel a paid plan mid-cycle, the account stays active and fully usable until the last day of the current cycle, then goes inactive and is not charged for the next period. Once the account is cancelled you lose access to all content and features of your plan.
ZipRecruiter says it saves your data and settings and restores them if you reactivate with a paid subscription. Its employer help center has no self-serve way to delete the account itself. If you want the account and its data removed rather than left inactive, ask in writing to support@ziprecruiter.com.
ZipRecruiter: what happens to my account if I cancel? ↗ZipRecruiter does not refund prepaid fees when you cancel.
ZipRecruiter’s U.S. Terms of Use, effective August 11, 2026, say plans renew automatically and that you get no refund of prepaid fees when you cancel. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the monthly, annual or other term in which ZipRecruiter receives your notice. Its help center adds that it does not offer prorated refunds for cancellations mid-cycle. Unless the plan is cancelled on time, charges keep accruing even if you don’t use it.
The terms make three exceptions with a pro-rata refund of prepaid fees for service not provided: ZipRecruiter changes or limits the service in a way that materially hurts you and you end it by written notice; ZipRecruiter ends your access for its own convenience; or ZipRecruiter materially breaches the agreement and doesn’t fix it within 10 days of written notice to businessaffairs@ziprecruiter.com.
If you meant to cancel a trial and were charged anyway, ZipRecruiter says to contact the billing department at (855) 813-0288, which will review the account, or Customer Care at (877) 252-1062 around the clock. Late payments can carry interest of 1.5% a month. A paper contract with ZipRecruiter or a partner overrides these terms.

Huck catches the billing date before ZipRecruiter renews.
Huck finds ZipRecruiter receipts and renewal notices in your Gmail and texts you what you pay, which plan it is and when the next billing date lands, so the cancellation request goes out before the plan renews.
When you say yes, Huck closes jobs or cancels a free trial in ZipRecruiter’s dashboard, or emails the cancellation or refund request to support@ziprecruiter.com from your Gmail, then checks the next bill. You handle the ZipRecruiter sign-in. Huck doesn’t make phone calls, so a phone-only step stays with you. ZipRecruiter decides any refund.
