Cancel Squarespace.
Keep the domain your email runs on.
Squarespace bills the site, the domain and Google Workspace as separate subscriptions, and cancelling the site stops only the first. Huck finds each Squarespace charge in your Gmail, tells you what renews next, and cancels what you no longer need when you say yes.
Connect Gmail to get started. You approve each money action.
To cancel Squarespace, open the site’s Billing panel, click the plan under Subscriptions and click Cancel subscription. The site stays online until the end of the billing cycle, and Squarespace refunds an annual plan only if you cancel within 14 days of purchase, minus the domain if it came free with the plan. Monthly plans and renewal payments get no refund. Your domain, Google Workspace and other add-ons keep renewing until you cancel each one. The domain stays yours after the site is cancelled, so inside the 14-day window, cancel the site first and transfer the domain afterward.

Cancel the website plan from the Billing panel.
Squarespace says a monthly plan stops at the end of the billing cycle. An annual plan also runs to the end of its cycle, unless you are inside the refund window and choose to end it at once for a refund. When the site expires, visitors see a “Website expired” message and search engines stop indexing it.
- Export anything you want to keep. Use Import & export content in the site settings. Deleting the site later removes its content for good.
- Decide what happens to the domain. Outside the refund window, Squarespace suggests transferring a domain before you cancel the site. Inside the 14-day window, cancel first: the domain stays yours and you can transfer it afterward. Cancelling the site does not cancel the domain.
- Open the site’s Billing panel. Under Subscriptions, click the website plan.
- Click Cancel subscription. On an annual plan inside the refund window, choose Retain Access to run to the end of the cycle, or Get Refund Immediately to take the site offline now and get the refund.
- Confirm, then review the other subscriptions. Squarespace shows Your other subscriptions before you confirm. Note which ones keep billing.
Squarespace says every subscription is independent from the site. Cancelling the website plan does not cancel your domain, Google Workspace, Email Campaigns or Acuity Scheduling.
Squarespace: cancel your website subscription ↗Keep the domain at Squarespace, move it, or turn off its auto-renew.
A domain registered through Squarespace does not expire when you cancel the site. It keeps renewing on its own date. You can keep it at Squarespace, move it to another Squarespace site, transfer it to a new provider, or let it lapse by turning off auto-renew.
Squarespace says a transfer away can take up to 15 days, a free domain’s offer does not carry over to the new provider, and it suggests cancelling the website subscription after the transfer if you are leaving Squarespace entirely. If you are inside the 14-day refund window, cancel the site first instead: you keep the domain and can start the transfer later. Record your DNS settings first, because most providers can’t keep them during a transfer. If you use Google Workspace, update the mail records at the new provider so email keeps arriving.
- Open the domains dashboard and click the domain. Remove DNSSEC in advanced settings first if you added it.
- Switch the Domain Lock toggle off. If it says the domain can’t be unlocked yet, the lock period has to end first.
- Click Request transfer code. Squarespace emails the code to the domain’s registrant contact within 24 hours, from no-reply@squarespace.com.
- Give the code to your new provider. Send the most recent code only. Earlier codes stop working.
The site goes dark, a free domain gets billed, and a lapsed domain may not come back.
The site stops showing at its domains. You can still sign in to manage billing, domains, contacts, past orders and exports. Customer subscriptions sold on your store are cancelled, and gift card balances can’t be refunded or moved after you cancel, so refund those first.
If your domain came free with an annual plan, cancelling that plan in the domain’s free year ends the offer and Squarespace charges the domain’s price for that first year. If you let a domain lapse, Squarespace says there is no guarantee you can buy it again, or at the same price.
Cancelling keeps your data in case you reactivate. Deleting the site removes it permanently, and Squarespace only lets you delete a site that is already cancelled or expired.
Squarespace: cancel your Squarespace domain ↗14 days on an annual site plan. 5 days on a domain. Nothing on monthly.
Squarespace’s website refund policy gives a full refund on an annual website plan cancelled within 14 days of purchase. It gives none on monthly plans, renewal payments or annual plans after 14 days. If the plan came with a free domain, the domain’s cost comes off the refund.
A domain registered in the last five days (measured to the minute) can be cancelled for a full refund. After that, and for country-code domains such as .ca or .us, you can only turn off auto-renew and let it expire. Squarespace says domain refunds take 3 to 10 business days.
Google Workspace bought through Squarespace follows its own rule: a monthly plan gets no refund when cancelled, and an annual plan gets a full refund only inside its 15-day renewal window.
Please refund the annual Squarespace website plan for [site name], bought on [purchase date]. I cancelled within 14 days of purchase, which your website refund policy covers. Please confirm the amount, including any domain deduction, and the refund date by email.Squarespace: website refund policy ↗
Huck lists every Squarespace charge and cancels the ones you name.
Huck finds Squarespace invoices in your Gmail and texts you each subscription, what it costs and when it renews, so the site, the domain and Google Workspace don’t surprise you after the site is gone. On an annual plan, Huck flags the 14-day refund window while it is still open.
When you say yes, Huck cancels the plan or turns off a renewal in your Squarespace account, or sends the refund request from your Gmail, then checks the next invoice. You handle the sign-in and the domain transfer code. Squarespace decides any refund.
