Cancel paid Slack.
Review the limits.
Switch paid Slack to Free through billing. Before confirming, review message retention, app limits, the effective date and any account credit.
Connect Gmail to get started. You approve each money action.
To cancel an eligible paid workspace plan, a Workspace Owner or member who upgraded the workspace can open Admin → Manage billing → Overview → Change plan details, select Downgrade to Free, choose the effective date and finish the confirmation. Review retention first: Free limits searchable history to 90 days and permanently deletes messages and files over a year old. Your chosen retention setting may delete them sooner.

Check the workspace and the data you need.
Confirm which workspace appears on the invoice and who can change its billing. Slack names Workspace Owners and members who upgraded the workspace as eligible to change the plan. A normal member should ask that person to handle it.
Review the Free plan consequences before setting the effective date. You can search and view the most recent 90 days of messages and files; content older than a year is permanently deleted. Free retention settings can instead delete content after 90 days. The app limit is 10.
Ask your workspace owner which permitted records your business needs to keep. Do not assume paying again will restore deleted content. Huck does not export, migrate or recover your Slack records.
Slack Free usage and retention limits ↗Choose Free and finish the billing confirmation.
Use the desktop billing controls in Slack’s current instructions. Switching to Free cancels the paid plan; deleting your personal Slack profile or leaving a workspace is a different action.
- Open billing. Choose Admin in the sidebar, then Manage billing. If Admin is not visible, open the workspace name to access settings.
- Find the plan change. On Overview, select Change plan details, then Downgrade to Free.
- Choose when it happens. Review immediate downgrade versus the next renewal date against your record-retention and feature needs.
- Complete the confirmation. Select Continue to Checkout, review the downgrade details, then confirm with Downgrade Slack. Keep the confirmation and effective date.
Keep a credit separate from a refund.
Slack’s plan-change guidance describes account credits for applicable unused paid time when moving from Business+ to Pro. It also says credits have no cash or exchange value, cannot be transferred or refunded, and expire when the paid plan ends. Do not treat that as a universal cash-refund entitlement for cancellation.
Check the cancellation summary and your agreement for the amount due, any credit and the effective date. If your workspace has an Enterprise or sales-managed agreement, get the account-specific cancellation and renewal terms from your billing contact before acting.
Slack’s plan-change and credit terms ↗Confirm the downgrade took effect.
Keep the workspace name, last invoice, chosen downgrade date and confirmation together. Check the billing view after the effective date. If another charge appears, compare its service period with the agreed end date before calling it an error.
Ask billing to explain an unexpected renewal or credit in writing. A charge discovered in your inbox is a reason to investigate, not proof that Slack owes a refund.
Please confirm the paid-plan cancellation for workspace [name/URL]. The downgrade was requested on [date] and the confirmation shows [effective date]. Please confirm the final service period, any amount still due, and whether [invoice/charge] is consistent with that date.
Have Huck find the renewal and pursue the request.
Huck finds the Slack billing evidence and renewal notices in Gmail, shows you the proposed money action, and follows through when you approve. Data-retention decisions and workspace permissions stay with you.
Huck follows up on billing questions and checks the later charge or credit. This does not require a claimed Slack integration, promise a cash refund or give Huck authority to delete your workspace.
We find the money.
We do the chasing.
Huck finds the money slipping out of your business, shows you what each charge is worth, and does the chasing when you say so. Cancellations, refund requests and vendor negotiations follow through to a result you can check.
Connect Gmail. No bank login. Anything that moves money always asks.

Huck finds renewals, price increases, duplicate payments and refunds owed in your Gmail, with a dollar figure on each finding.
You decide.
Review the proposed change. Cancellations, downgrades and refund requests need your yes each time.
We do the chasing.
Huck cancels, requests the refund or works the vendor’s chat, then follows up until the request is settled. Huck checks your bill for the lower charge, credit or refund and texts you the result.
A few things
before you act.
Does leaving a Slack workspace cancel its paid plan?
Leaving a workspace is different from changing its billing. The eligible billing owner must finish the downgrade through the workspace’s plan controls.
Can I choose the next renewal date?
Slack’s published cancellation route lets you choose immediately or the next renewal date. Check the date shown in your account before confirming.
Will all my Slack history remain available on Free?
No. Free limits visible and searchable history to 90 days, and older content is subject to deletion. Review the current retention settings and preserve permitted records before downgrading.
Does canceling guarantee a cash refund?
No. Check your agreement and cancellation summary. An account credit is not cash, and Slack places restrictions on how its credits can be used.
