How do I cancel
Loom?
Loom now cancels in one of two places depending on whether your workspace moved to Atlassian billing, and only an admin can do it. Huck finds your Loom receipts in Gmail, tells you what you pay and when it renews, and makes the change when you say yes.
Connect Gmail to get started. You approve each money action.
To cancel Loom, a workspace admin on a legacy Loom account goes to Workspace Settings, the Plan & Billing tab, selects Manage Subscription, then Downgrade to Starter and Complete cancellation. If your Personal Settings show “Your Profile is linked to Atlassian,” only Atlassian billing admins and Atlassian organization admins can cancel, from Billing, Subscriptions, Manage, then Deactivate in the Atlassian Admin portal. Either way the cancellation takes effect at your next renewal date, and you keep paid features until then. The 14-day Business + AI trial needs no cancelling: it drops to Starter Free unless you added a credit card. On Starter you get a 5-minute recording limit and a 25-video limit, and videos over 25 are kept, but you can’t record new ones until you delete down or upgrade. Loom’s billing policy says it will not issue a prorated refund for the rest of the period you paid for.

On a legacy Loom account, downgrade to Starter.
If Personal Settings does not say your profile is linked to Atlassian, the workspace is still on Loom’s legacy billing and the change is made in Workspace Settings. You keep premium features until the end of the billing cycle and are not charged at renewal.
On Business + AI you can also step down to the plain Business plan from the same Manage Subscription page by choosing Downgrade to Business. Loom AI stays on until the end of the current cycle and is not charged once the plan renews.
- Open Workspace Settings from the left sidebar. You need to be an admin of the workspace to see billing.
- Select the Plan & Billing tab. Your renewal date is shown on this page.
- Select Manage Subscription. On a Business + AI free trial this button does not appear, and Loom says you won’t be charged when the trial ends.
- Select Downgrade to Starter. On Business + AI, scroll to the bottom of the page to find Downgrade to Business or Downgrade to Starter plan.
- Pick a reason and select Complete cancellation. Loom’s auto-renewal article describes the same flow as Cancel Subscription. To undo it before renewal, go back to Manage Subscription and select Cancel my downgrade.

If Loom is linked to Atlassian, cancel in Atlassian Admin.
Loom says accounts that signed up after February 2026, and legacy accounts that have been moved over, are integrated with Atlassian. On those, billing and users are managed in Atlassian Administration, and only Atlassian billing admins and Atlassian organization admins can cancel the Loom subscription.
- Open the Atlassian Admin portal from Loom’s left sidebar and select Billing. This takes you to Atlassian Administration.
- Select Subscriptions, find Loom and select Manage. If you have more than one Loom subscription, note the Transaction Account ID of the one you are cancelling, then select Manage for that one.
- Open the Loom subscription’s details page. Select it from your Active subscriptions.
- Open the actions menu and select Deactivate. Choose a reason and select Continue. You are then offered Downgrade to a Starter free plan or Continue to cancel.
- Select Cancel subscription. The confirmation screen shows the exact date the subscription ends.
A trial with no card drops to Starter on its own.
New workspaces get a 14-day Business + AI trial with no charge during the trial. Loom says there is no need to cancel: when it ends the account downgrades to Starter Free unless you added a credit card. If you did add a card, you are charged and stay on the paid plan, so downgrade before day 14 if you don’t want it.
On Atlassian-integrated accounts, Starter Free is limited to 10 users. If the workspace has more than 10 users at the end of the trial and no payment method, you get a 14-day grace period, and you need to cut to 10 or fewer to move to Starter Free. Stay above 10 without paying and Loom deactivates the plan after the grace period.
Loom: Business + AI trial FAQ ↗Cutting Creator seats lowers the next bill, not this one.
You pay for Creators and admins. On legacy accounts, a Creator downgraded to Creator Lite keeps Creator access until the end of the cycle and the next invoice drops, with no credit. A deactivated member loses access right away and the rest of that seat’s paid time is forfeited, with no refund. Workspace admins can add or remove members at any time.
On Atlassian-integrated accounts the free Creator Lite role is discontinued and Creator Lites become paid Creators, with no extra charge until your next billing date. To stop paying for someone, remove them before that date in Atlassian Administration under Directory, Users, Actions, Remove user. Annual Atlassian plans bill by user tier rather than per user, so check which tier your count lands in.
Loom: billing policy for paid plans ↗Starter keeps your videos but stops new recordings over 25.
After a downgrade, recordings are capped at 5 minutes and the library at 25 videos, archived videos included. Loom says it won’t delete videos over the limit, and you keep access to all of them, but no one can record until you upgrade or delete enough to get under 25. Loom’s storage article says screenshots don’t count toward the limit.
You also lose Engagement Insights, custom branding (share pages go back to default settings), and the ability to create new spaces, though existing spaces stay. SSO is turned off, so people log in the way they did before SSO or reset their password. Members keep their roles but are limited to Creator Lite recording, editing and sharing. AI features already applied to videos stay, but new videos lose most AI features; auto titles continue on every plan.
Loom: what happens when you downgrade ↗Legacy Loom plans don’t refund the unused period.
For Business and Business + AI bought on Loom.com without a contract, Loom’s billing policy says cancellation takes effect at your next renewal date and it will not issue a prorated refund for the time left. The same applies when you downgrade a member to a free seat, and deactivated or deleted members forfeit unused time. Contracted Business and Enterprise customers follow their contract.
For Atlassian-billed accounts, Loom’s billing policy points you to Atlassian’s billing policies. Atlassian’s Loom pricing page says monthly subscriptions are eligible for a refund within your first paid month after the trial, and annual subscriptions within 30 days of payment. Atlassian’s purchasing FAQ adds that cloud renewals and upgrades cannot be refunded and that its refund terms don’t apply to Enterprise subscriptions. Atlassian decides any refund.
Loom: billing policy for paid plans ↗Huck catches the renewal and makes the downgrade.
Huck finds Loom and Atlassian receipts and renewal notices in your Gmail and texts you what you pay, how many Creator seats that covers, and when it renews, so seats are trimmed or the plan is downgraded before the next charge.
When you say yes, Huck downgrades in Loom’s Plan & Billing page or cancels in Atlassian Admin, whichever your workspace uses, and you handle the sign-in with an admin account. Then it checks the next bill for the lower charge or a leftover prorated seat charge. If a charge looks wrong, Huck drafts the refund request from your Gmail for your yes. Loom or Atlassian decides any refund under the policies above.
