How do I cancel
ServiceM8?

ServiceM8 plans are monthly with no contract, but only the account owner can cancel, only on the web, and only once the balance is paid, and cancelling deletes every job for good. Huck finds your ServiceM8 charges in Gmail, tells you which plan you pay for, and cancels when you say yes.

The short answer

To cancel ServiceM8, the account owner logs in to ServiceM8 on the web from a Mac or PC (not the app), clicks Settings, then ServiceM8 Account, then Cancel Account, confirms, answers the short survey and logs out to finish. ServiceM8’s help center says you can’t cancel with an outstanding balance, and once you cancel all data is removed and can’t be recovered, so export it first. Plans are monthly with no contracts or setup fees. If you pay through Apple, cancelling the Apple subscription stops the payment but doesn’t cancel the ServiceM8 account, and the same goes for billing through Xero.

The account owner cancels on the web.

ServiceM8’s help center says you must be the account owner and must cancel in the web interface on a Mac or PC; the app can’t do it.

  1. Log in to ServiceM8 on the web. Use a Mac or PC, not the iPhone or Android app.
  2. Click Settings, then ServiceM8 Account. If your trial has ended and Settings is locked, use Manage my ServiceM8 Account under the pricing plans.
  3. Click Cancel Account and follow the prompts. Review the account and confirm the cancellation, then click Next.
  4. Answer the short survey and click Next. The wizard has to run to the end.
  5. Log out to finish the cancellation. ServiceM8 says logging out finalises it.

Stopping the payment isn’t the same as cancelling.

If you pay for ServiceM8 through Apple, tap Cancel Subscription in the app and pick ServiceM8 on Apple’s Subscriptions page. ServiceM8 says this cancels the paid subscription but not your ServiceM8 account, and the plan reverts to Trial. Billing through Xero works the same way: stopping it there doesn’t cancel or delete the account.

To end both the payment and the account, the owner still runs Cancel Account on the web.

ServiceM8 says that once you cancel, all the data is removed and isn’t recoverable. Export clients, jobs, quotes, invoices and photos first, and check that invoices synced to your accounting software.

If you only want to pay less, ServiceM8 lets you change plans at any time. Its US pricing page lists a Free plan with 30 jobs a month.

Huck finds the ServiceM8 plan and cancels on your yes.

Huck finds ServiceM8 receipts in your Gmail, whether billed by ServiceM8, Apple or Xero, and texts you which plan you pay for and whether a smaller one would cover your jobs.

With your yes, Huck runs the cancellation or plan change in ServiceM8 on the web while you handle the sign-in, then checks your next statements for a charge that shouldn’t be there. ServiceM8 decides any refund; Huck does not promise one.
