How do I cancel
a Clover merchant account?
Clover has no cancel button: closing an account goes through Clover support, termination fees depend on who sold you Clover, and the equipment subscription runs to its end date unless you pay it off. To cancel a Clover merchant account, contact Clover support: in your Clover dashboard select Help at the top right, tap Help on a Clover device, or call the support number on your monthly statement, and have your merchant ID (MID) or Tax ID ready. Clover’s own help page, read November 3, 2026, says pausing, holding or closing an account all go through support. Contract terms and any termination fee depend on your service provider, Clover Direct or a bank partner such as Citi, PNC or Wells Fargo. Clover’s equipment subscriptions are non-cancelable and ineligible for refunds, but can be paid off at any time, and you must tell Clover at least 30 days before the subscription term ends whether you’ll return or buy the equipment, or it continues month to month.

Contact Clover support to close or pause the account.
Clover’s help center says that to pause, hold or close your Clover account you need to contact Clover support. There is no self-serve cancel button.
- Find your merchant ID. In the Clover dashboard select Settings, View all settings, then Business information under About your business. The MID shows next to your business name.
- Reach Clover support. In the dashboard select Help at the top right, tap Help on a Clover device, or tap More then Help in the Clover Go app.
- Or call your direct support number. It is on your monthly statement: Settings, View all settings, Monthly statements under Billing & Statements.
- Ask to close the account, or to pause it. Give your MID or Tax ID for verification.
- Ask what you still owe. Ask for any termination fee, the equipment balance and the date of the last charge, in writing.

Your fee depends on who sold you Clover.
Clover’s pricing FAQ says contract terms and any termination fees vary by service provider, whether Clover Direct or a partner such as Citi, PNC or Wells Fargo, or one of more than 3,000 other financial institutions that sell Clover in the US. Clover publishes no single US termination fee. Read your merchant agreement, or ask support to state the fee before you close.
If your bank set up the account, the bank’s merchant services team may handle the processing contract while Clover support handles the account.
